I am in a self discovery time of my life. I am trying to find the "right" job, place to live and activities that will help sculpt me into becoming the person God would like me to be. In this process, some notions or habits have come into my awareness. Upon watching the movie The Secret, I have found a few self discoveries, one in which is the joy of giving gratitude. I recently started a gratitude notebook in which I write about all the things I am grateful for. This concept is incredibly uplifting because even when you feel you are hitting rock bottom, you realize that there is still something in which to be thankful. For me, my gratitude goes to my Lord and Savior, but others could be thankful to the universe for all that has been bestowed upon you. You come to realize the tiniest things to be grateful for, such as your gift of sight, taste, smell, hearing and touch...so basic, yet they are still a gift. What the most amazing thing is about giving thanks is the outcome- you smile, you relax, you enjoy, you live!!!Everyday, when I'm sending my gratitude to God, I thank Him for the joyful feeling I receive by just giving Him thanks! I have found more joy during sad times because I realize the things to be grateful for and focus on them rather than wallow in my sorrows.
I know that God and the Universe has something amazing in store for me...and even though I'm not quite sure what that is yet, I have gratitude in the knowledge that something will happen in my life that will open the door to His amazing plan.
I hope that you will all try an attitude of gratitude, maybe for a day, a week, a month or the rest of your life! It's a feeling that makes you want to get out of bed every morning and greet the day with a smile.
May the Lord bless you this day and every day with all that your heart desires.
With Gratitude and Blessings,
Michaela
For each new morning with its light,
For rest and shelter of the night,
For health and food, for love and friends,
For everything Thy goodness sends.
~Ralph Waldo Emerson
God gave you a gift of 86,400 seconds today. Have you used one to say "thank you?"
